THE APPRENTICE RED PRIETO PICUDO 6 MONTHS IN OAK BARRELS
-Description:
El Aprendiz red is a wine with an excellent quality-price ratio. It is a red wine elaborated 100% with the prieto picudo variety, coming from our vineyards located in the south of the province of León, and aged for 6 months in French and American oak barrels, of fourth and fifth use. It is a very easy to drink wine, which wants to resemble his older brothers, El Médico and El Músico.
-Viticulture:
Wine made 100% with the unique and native variety prieto picudo existing in our vineyards in the southern part of the province of León.
-Soil:
Deep, acidic, very poor soils, sandy loam texture, with a large amount of gravel and boulders.
-Winemaking:
Harvest: Manual in 25 kg boxes.
Cold pre-maceration for 72 hours in stainless steel tanks at 8ºC.
Alcoholic fermentation for 10-12 days at 28ºC.
Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Aging in fourth and fifth use barrels for a minimum of 6 months. 75% French oak (Allier), 25% American oak (Missouri).
Clarification method with vegetable gelatin and bentonite.
Stabilization method: No cold stabilization (may present precipitates of strictly natural origin).
Amicrobic filtration through 1 micron
-Tasting notes:
To the eye it presents a nice intense garnet red dress, clean and bright.
On the nose, ripe red fruits are present with a background of noble woods.
In the mouth it is dry, fresh, velvety, balanced and persistent.
