-Description:
El Músico is a red wine aged for a minimum of 12 months in brand new French oak barrels. It is made from 100% prieto picudo grapes from our centenary vineyards between 80 and 120 years old. Today, it is the winery's most exclusive product as only a maximum of 4,000 bottles are produced each year.
-Viticulture:
Wine made 100% with selected grapes of the prieto picudo variety from our pagos de "El Médico", vineyards between 60 and 120 years old, located in the southern part of the province of León.
-Soil:
Deep soils, acidic, very poor, clay loam texture, with a large amount of gravel and boulders.
-Winemaking:
Harvest: Manual in 25 kg boxes.
Cold pre-maceration for 72 hours in stainless steel tanks at 8ºC.
Alcoholic fermentation for 8-10 days at 30ºC.
Aging in new, 1-, 2- and 3-use barrels for a minimum of 9 months; 75% French oak (Allier), 25% American oak (Missouri).
Malolactic fermentation yes, in barrel.
Fining method with vegetable gelatin and bentonite.
No stabilization method (may present precipitates of strictly natural origin)
Amicrobic filtration by 1 micron
-Tasting notes:
To the eye it presents a beautiful deep garnet red dress with purple hues, clean and bright.
Ripe red fruits are present on the nose with spicy, balsamic, mineral and noble wood notes.
In the mouth it is dry, fresh, powerful, very ample, balanced and persistent.
